The Rotary Club of Jos on Sunday donated stationery to 50 pupils of St. Paul’s Township Primary School in Jos.
The club also donated sanitary pads, toiletries, and buckets to 150 women and girls to enable them to improve their personal hygiene.
Mr Frank Igboanugo, the new president of the club, said that the donation was in line with the focal areas of the Rotary Club International.
Igboanugo, during his investiture as the 53rd president, listed the stationery to pupils to include 600 exercise books, rulers, pencils, pens, and chalk for the school.
The president further said that the club had also trained 20 indigent persons in various skills.
According to him, the beneficiaries were trained in the production of reusable sanitary pads, detergent, and sanitisers to make them financially independent.
He stated that the club would be going to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Mangu to provide succour and renew the hope of the IDPs.
The guest speaker at the investiture, Mr Santos Larab, commended the new president for his blue print.
Larab advised him that the office of the president wasn’t one for personal gain but a call to serve humanity.
