Gov. Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom has tasked the newly inaugurated State Executive Council (EXCO) members on teamwork and unity of purpose.
Eno said this during the inauguration of the Commissioners and Special Advisers at Government House, Uyo on Monday.
He urged the cabinet members to look for solutions and not engage in blame games.
The governor warned the exco members against disunity, saying he was not forming a war cabinet, but a delivery cabinet.
“This Exco therefore, must be shaped by love, teamwork, unity of purpose, and the spirit of oneness.
“You must carry each other along as partners rather than adversaries, and you have to be very observant, so that we do not allow one person to destroy collective attainment, ” he said.
The governor urged them to effectively collaborate to ensure tbe fulfilment of the administration’s campaign promises for the good of the people.
“The central and defining element of this Exco is unity of purpose, teamwork, and positive collaborations to deliver on our campaign promises.
“You must Commit this to memory and project it in all your engagements, and you will have a smooth time as Exco members, ” he said.
Eno said that the commissioners were not appointed to ignite unnecessary fights with other leaders at the local government, state, or federal levels.
“Our dream and desire is to continue keeping Akwa Ibom as an oasis of peace and tranquility, where investors and tourists will continue to come, live, and thrive,” he said.
