The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has issued a stern warning to the Kwankwasiya Group and The National Movement (TNM) to respect the termination of their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) .
The warning was contained in a letter, dated March 20, 2025 titled: ” Reminder: Notice of Withdrawal from MoU”
The letter, titled “Reminder: Notice of Withdrawal from MoU,” was jointly signed by the Founder and Chairman of the NNPP Board of Trustees, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, and its National Chairman, Dr. Agbo Major.
The MoU, which was entered into in the buildup to the 2023 presidential elections, was meant to be terminated after the election.
However, the group, led by Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and Elder Buba Galadima, has refused to respect the agreement, prompting the NNPP to write a reminder letter.
The NNPP has also copied the Inspector General of Police and the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), emphasizing the need for the group to desist from holding themselves out as members of the party.
The party warned that the structure and leadership of the NNPP have reverted to the original founders and leaders since July 28, 2023.
The letter read: “It has however since come to our notice that you are still holding yourselves out as an integral part of the NNPP membership and leadership.
“You must forthwith desist from this fraudulent and heinous posturing because the structure and leadership of the NNPP has, since 28 July 2023, reverted to the original founders and leaders of the Party.
” You are advised to be properly guided and desist from deceiving unsuspecting members of the public.”
This development, however, comes after the NNPP had earlier written to the group in July 2023, terminating the MoU.
The group’s refusal to respect the agreement, which led led to the expulsion of some of its members for anti-party activities. (ephemeralnews.com.ng)
