On August 27, 2025, the Assemblies of God Church, Tul Pushit Ward, Mangu LGA, came alive with joy and optimism as the Executive Private Secretary to the Governor of Plateau State, Chief Moses Nwan, mni, Ph.D., engaged Christian leaders under the umbrella of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pushit District.
*Purpose of the Interface*
The gathering drew Reverends, Pastors, and leaders from various denominations—COCIN, Anglican, ECWA, Catholic, Baptist, Living Faith, Assemblies of God, New Life for All, Charismatic Renewal Churches, and the Women and Youth wings of CAN. Chief Nwan, who recently bagged an award by the United Nations as an Ambassador of world peace, explained that the interface was aimed at strengthening the role of religious leaders in peacebuilding. Having earlier met with Muslim leaders across Mangu LGA, he stressed the importance of balanced dialogue among faith groups, especially in the face of recent attacks and rising community tensions.
*Call to Return to God*
In his message, Chief Nwan reminded participants that the true foundation of peace is rooted in God. He called on leaders and congregants alike to return to God in humility and prayer, noting that the Church remains the bedrock of peace promotion. “Unity and love within the body of Christ,” he said, “remain the surest pathway to lasting stability in our communities.”

Chief Nwan also underscored the need for unity among different denominations. He urged leaders to act as examples of reconciliation, emphasizing that when church leaders stand together, congregations will follow. Beyond the Church, he noted, politicians and public servants must rise above ethnic and sectional sentiments, embracing the spirit of love and togetherness.
*Leaders’ Responsibility*
Highlighting the moral and spiritual duty of leadership, he cautioned that God’s judgment awaits leaders who fail to promote peace. “As ambassadors of Christ,” he charged, “we carry a responsibility to preserve harmony and build trust across divides.”
*A Global Mandate for Peace*
In his closing remarks, Chief Nwan described himself as both a son of the soil and an ambassador of world peace. Referencing recognitions from the United Nations and the Nigerian Women Peace Initiative, he reaffirmed his lifelong commitment to preaching peace and promoting harmonious living. He also applauded Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang as a God-fearing leader devoted to the peace and progress of Plateau State, calling on the church to support the Governor with prayers and partnership.

Leaders of CAN Pushit District, led by their Chairman, Rev. Apostle Andrew Dangwel, thanked Governor Mutfwang and Chief Nwan for their consistent peace advocacy. They offered prayers for divine protection, wisdom, and continued favour as they led the state toward peace and development.
