The Commissioner of Police in Kogi, Mr Miller Dantawaye, says the timely flow of critical intelligence is key to effective crime prevention management.
Dantawaye made the remarks on Tuesday while receiving the newly deployed Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kogi on a courtesy visit to him at the Police Command Headquarters, Lokoja.
The CP emphasised the need for a strategic partnership in intelligence sharing to foster a more proactive approach in security management.
“This is because effective collaboration leads to improved security in any given society.
“Collaboration is of mutual benefit to warrant serious commitments by responding to emergencies and providing public safety services to communities,” he said.
He stressed that the commandant’s visit provided a collaborative environment that allowed security agencies to contribute ideas for improved policing and community safety.
In his remarks, NSDC commandant, Aletan Olumide-Ebenezer staid that the purpose of his visit was to seek continued partnership and synergy between the police and corps in Kogi.
Olumide-Ebenezer said the importance of synergy among security agencies is in confronting criminality and other threats to public safety.
According to him, intelligence sharing and collaborative approaches are essentials in security management.
