Prince Gara Nongha, Chairman, North- East Forum of Chairmen, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), on Wednesday felicitated with a prominent Taraba philanthropist, Chief Adi Pajo, over his installation as Bobaselu (Helper of the king in administration) of Inisa Land in Osun.
Nongha, who disclosed this to newsmen in Jalingo, said the recognition proved that Nigeria’s traditional institutions continued to celebrate excellence, regardless of background, religion or ethnicity.
“The honour, conferred on Pajo by the traditional council of Inisa in Osun, was in recognition of his consistent philanthropic service, humanitarian interventions and empowerment initiatives that have touched lives beyond Taraba and the North-East.
“Chief Pajo’s installation as Bobaselu of Inisa Land is a clear demonstration that service to humanity has no boundary.
“His impact has reached communities across Nigeria, especially in areas of youth and women empowerment, job creation, and community development,” he said.
The NYCN Forum chairman added that the conferment of a Yoruba chieftaincy title on a Northerner further underscored the role of traditional rulers in promoting national cohesion and mutual respect among Nigeria’s diverse cultures.
“Over the years, Pajo has been widely regarded as a rallying point in Taraba, distinguished for his selflessness, philanthropy and commitment to helping others.
“His profile as an employer of labour and an advocate of social-economic development has earned him admiration both at home and across the country,” he said.
According to the forum, the recognition will serve as a call for greater commitment to fostering unity, promoting cultural values, and expanding empowerment opportunities for Nigerians, irrespective of region or tribe.
While praying to God to bless Pajo with wisdom, health and guidance to succeed in his new responsibility, the forum expressed optimism that his installation would further inspire inter-regional cooperation and strengthen the bonds of national unity. NAN
