The Olu of Apata, Oba Frederick Balogun, on Tuesday pledged more purposeful leadership and development of his kingdom as he celebrates his 11th year on the throne.
The traditional ruler made the pledge in his royal anniversary message to the people of Apata kingdom in Lokoja Local Government Area and kogi in general.
Balogun, who has just been appointed member, Governing Council of the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Institute (NKFI) by His Gov. Ahmed Ododo, ascended the throne of his forebearers on Oct. 7, 2014 with pomp and pageantry.

Olu Apata described the 11 years rulership in Apata-Ipatun as divine, tasking and well ganished with lessons of divine directions that could be tamed gracious and successful.
He most sincerely thanked God, who in His mercy counted him worthy to ascend his fathers throne to lead his people up to this period of time in good condition of health.
“I’m indeed grateful to God, my wife and children, Olu-lagedu Royal Dynasty, the council members, Apata-Ipatun sons and daughters, both at home and abroad, Ipatun kingdom Apata /Obajana for their unwavering support, ” he stated.

He also appreciated the Kogi government under the leadership of Gov. Ododo, Alhaji Aliko Dangote. Members of the state assembly, local government Chairmen, Kogi Kotonkarfe Area traditional council chairman and members for their support.
According to him, his desire for his people and Kogi, is peaceful coexistence, unity and collective progress as legacies for the younger generations.
Balogun commended the efforts of the state government and security operatives at maintaining peace and security, ” without which there can’t be any development”. NAN
