The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Tactical Air Command (TAC) Makurdi on Saturday conducted a 10-kilometre walk/jog exercise to boost personnel fitness.

Speaking at the end of the exercise at the TAC playground in Makurdi, Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Tactical Air Command (TAC) AVM Patrick Obeya said over 700 personnel participated in the programme.

Obeya said fitness is not only a physical requirement but also a reflection of discipline and commitment to duty.

The AOC added that the resilience and endurance displayed would translate into their daily tasks and professional responsibilities.

He said the exercise would play a vital role in enhancing morale, promoting wellness, and strengthening the bond among officers, airmen, and airwomen across the command.

Obeya further boosted that no casualty was recorded during the exercise, thereby attesting to TAC personnel fitness level.

“What we have witnessed this morning goes beyond a routine fitness activity; it is a clear demonstration of discipline, teamwork, and determination, which is the hallmark of the Nigerian Air Force.

“The impressive turnout and level of participation reflect the commitment of TAC personnel to maintaining high standards of fitness and readiness.

“As we conclude today’s exercise, I encourage everyone to make physical fitness a continuous lifestyle.

“Regular exercise, proper rest, and healthy habits are essential for operational effectiveness, mental alertness, and personal well-being.

“Remember that our ability to serve effectively in any capacity depends on how well we take care of our bodies and minds,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a high point of the events was the presentation of prizes to different categories of participants who excelled during the walk/jog. NAN
