The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Plateau chapter has donated cash to the CLAPAI Orphanage Home in Jos as part of its corporate social responsibility and commitment to community service.
Plateau NMA Chairman, Dr Yilji Kumtap, said during the presentation on Monday in Jos that the gesture was aimed at supporting the welfare of the orphans.
Kumtap stated that the NMA recognised the need to give back to the society, especially to vulnerable persons that require assistance for their daily upkeep and development.
“As medical professionals, we are not only committed to saving lives in hospitals but also to touching lives in our communities.
“This donation is our little way of showing love and solidarity with children who deserve care and opportunities.” He said.
He explained that the donation was also done to commemorate the NMA National Charity Day and the NMA 2025 Physicians Week.
The chairman further said that first aid kits and cash support were also given to ECWA Plateau Church, where the NMA held its thanksgiving service on October 19 for onwards delivery.
He said that the association would also be visiting its ailing members and would also assist them financially.
Mrs Kyenpiya Nyabam, the founder of the ClAPAI Orphanage Home, appreciated the NMA for the support, noting that the donation would go a long way in meeting the children’s needs.
“We are grateful for this timely intervention.
“It will help us provide better care for the children,” she said.
