Rimi College, Kaduna Old Students Forum Elects New Executives

Members of the 77-82 Class of Rimi( St. John’s) College, Kaduna, have elected new officials to run the affairs of the association in the next three years.

A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN), who covered the forum’s Annual General Meeting in Kaduna, reports that Musa Shehu, former General Manager of the Procurement Department at the Nigerian Ports Authority, emerged as Chairman.

Other elected officials included Hamisu Garba, a retired Auditor in Katsina State, who clinched theVice Chairmanship seat.

Others included Ephraims Sheyin, Secretary, while Samaila Bala is to serve as Assistant Secretary.

Similarly, Shehu Kyari, a banker, was elected Financial Secretary, Husaini Mohammed, is Publicity Secretary, while Hamza Umaru was elected Treasurer.

Abbas Ahmed, former Company Secretary of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), would serve as Legal Adviser while Sirajo Ibrahim, a former Commissioner with the Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission is Auditor.

The Forum also appointed three Ex-Officio Members – – z Peter Sofa, Isa Mohammed- Yarshehu, and Musa Nuhu, a former member of the House of Representatives, Katsina State House of Assembly, and former Local Government Chairman.

NAN reports that among the electoral committee members were Alhaji Mohammed Bawa, Chairman of ABG Group of companies, and Lawal Sani, former Director at INEC.

Others included Mr Simon Number, former Executive Director at the NNPC, while Ben Ikheloah, a former Director at the Nigeria Investment Promotion Council, was the Chairman.

The association had, during the AGM, called on the Kaduna State Government to halt the sale of the school land.

The members pointed out that the sale of the land was threatening the legacy of one of Kaduna’s oldest schools. NAN
