The National Orientation Agency (NOA) on Tuesday in Jos, commenced a three-day capacity training for workers of various Federal government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA) on national values and leadership.
Director-General of the NOA, Mr Lanre Issa-Onilu, said that the training was done in partnership with Tomruk iHub Multiverse and Dakrisbenic Foundation for Unity and Development in Africa (DAFUDA).
Issa-Onilu, represented by Mr David Ackoji, NOA’s Director Special Duties and States Operations, said that the aim of the training is to empower participants with knowledge and skills required to drive implementation of the National Value Charter across the country.
According to him, , the programme is also designed to deepen understanding of the key pillars of the National Value Charter, strengthen public service ethics, and promote unified national values that support good governance.
The D-G, said that the charter represents a renewed national commitment to integrity, responsibility and patriotism.
He added that the training covers critical areas, such as the National Values Charter, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, transparency and inclusive decision making.
Similarly, Prof. Emmanuel Musa, who delivered the keynote address, harped on the importance of national core values.
He said that adherence to our national values is essential for promoting integrity, responsibility, and patriotism in public service, as well as fostering unity and accountability across all levels of government.
Meanwhile, a participant, Ms Ogechi Mbu, commended NOA for the training and expressed optimism that the training will expand her knowledge on important issues on national identity and national values.
