Oba Frederick Balogun JP, Olu Apata-Oworo, says Christmas symbolises hope, peace and Joy to humanity across the globe.

The traditional ruler  said this in a Christmas message in Lokoja on Thursday.

Oba Balogun described Christmas as a season that rekindles the hope of mankind, considering the challenges the federal and state governments are trying to address.

“Christmas, which is the celebration of Jesus Christ, calls for sober reflection, display of faith in God, even as we pray for His divine intervention in our lives.

“I hereby urge Christians and others to use this festive season to reflect on their responsibilities as citizens of Nigeria, to recommit themselves to selfless service for its economic growth.

“May this Christmas season renew our hope to a better future as God helps us in eradicating banditry, kidnapping and terrorism in the country, ” he said.

Oba Balogun urged residents of the state and Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu and Gov. Ahmed Ododo’s policies and programmes for the achievement of the desired growth and development of Kogi and Nigeria.

He wished all residents of Apata-Oworo and Kogi a merry Christmas and a fulfilling festive season. NAN
