The Nigerian Air Force School of Air Intelligence (NAFSAINT) Makurdi has graduated 18 personnel for the Basic Intelligence Officer Course 10/2025.
Speaking during the ceremony in Makurdi, the Special Guest of Honour, Air Commodore Ali Idris, commended the graduands for their dedication and conduct during the four-month course.
Idris, who is NAF Director of Training, said the course would transform the trainees’ talent, intellect and patriotism into a disciplined instrument to support the force to achieve its mandate.
“Today, you join a lineage, a tradition defined not by public parades, but by private diligence. Not by glory, but by grit.
“You have traded the comfort of the known for the demanding terrain of the unknown. You know that most important battles are often won not on the fields, but in the shadows of analysis, in the silence of observations, and in the clarity of a well-crafted assessment.
“The course you have just completed is more than a curriculum. It is a transformation. They have taken your raw talent, your intellect, your curiosity, and your patriotism and forged them into a disciplined instrument.
“You have been taught to listen to the whispers that others miss. To connect dots that set worlds apart. To think critically and dare to question the obvious narrative.
“You have learnt that truth is rarely a single fact but a mosaic, and your job is to find the missing pieces,” he said.
Idris urged them to always ensure that their analysis and reports about issues are “unshakably honest, meticulously sourced, and free from the bias of wishful thinking.
“You may not always see the direct results of your work. Your victories will be the invisible catastrophes averted. Your successes will be the quiet understandings that prevent loud conflicts.
“There will be no cheering crowds for your finest hour. But know this: the expert analysis that guides a peaceful resolution, the early warning that saves lives, and the critical insight that protects our troops, assets and interests – these will be your legacy.
“It is a legacy of profound, silent service,” he said.
He commended the commandant and management of NAFSAINT for the hard work, dedication and diligence invested in shaping the graduands.
Earlier, the Commandant, NAFSAINT, Makurdi, Group Capt. Michael Ikuenayo, said 18 personnel enrolled for the four-month course in September 2025, and all graduated.
Ikuenayo said the course, which was divided into four parts, is a foundation upon which a speciality career in air intelligence or in the larger world of intelligence can be built.
