FRSC Task Officers on Discipline, Control of Field Commands

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has tasked officers and men on upholding discipline and professionalism to have full control of Field Commands for adequate service.

The Corps Marshal, Shehu Muhammed, gave the challenge while addressing the staff of RS 8.3 Kogi and its components command and control in Lokoja on Tuesday.

Represented by Corps Commander, Charles E. Edem, (CC Admin), RSHQ, Abuja, harped on discipline, professionalism and upholding ethical standards in the discharge of their duties.

“As officers, you must be committed towards upholding discipline and professionalism in the Corps.

“This charge becomes necessary following the reports of unprofessional behavior of some personnel Corps wide, ” he said.

The Corps Marshal disclosed that he has designed a programme aimed at strengthening and restoring the Corps standards of saving life’s and properties on the Highway.

The Corps Marshal took the staff through the technical session that dwelled extensively on administrative and operational misconduct, its consequences and his zero tolerance for misconduct.

He further said, “Discipline is not punishment; discipline is protection for our reputation, our careers and the lives of Nigerians who depend on us daily. Therefore discipline must be upheld.”

Responding, the Sector Commander, Tenimu Etuku, who is the host, welcomed the Corps Marshal representative and lauded the sensitisation initiative.

Etuku urged the command’s officers to be attentive, learn and be ready to make adjustments where necessary so as to be a good ambassador of FRSC to the general public.

The sector commander, however, thanked the Corp Marshal for such a laudable and knowledge filled sensitisation initiative for officers across the nation. (ephemeralnews.com.ng)
