Vet Konect Limited has announced a strategic partnership with Dubai-based Nova Vet Family to expand the use of artificial intelligence (AI) across veterinary practices in Nigeria.

The partnership was announced on Tuesday in Makurdi by the Founder of Vet Konect Limited, Dr Shadrach Akpem, and the Global Commercial Operations Director of NovaVet Family, Ms Kaiya Mcnellie.

According to the companies, the collaboration is aimed at integrating advanced AI solutions into veterinary services through the deployment of VetifyPro, a clinical decision-support tool designed to improve professional efficiency and patient outcomes.

They said the partnership comes at a critical time when Nigeria’s livestock and pet sectors are witnessing increasing demand for modern technology-driven healthcare solutions.

The companies explained that VetifyPro provides veterinarians with real-time, evidence-based recommendations by analysing patient history, physical examinations, and diagnostic results.

They said that tool is designed to integrate seamlessly into existing veterinary workflows, helping professionals reduce decision-making time and improve diagnostic accuracy.

They added that the innovation would strengthen confidence in handling complex medical cases through data-driven support systems.

Speaking on the partnership, Akpem said the initiative aligns with Vet Konect’s vision of modernising veterinary practice across Africa.

“This partnership aligns with our vision of making bold investments in the future of the veterinary profession across Africa.

“By integrating AI into daily practice, we are significantly improving the clinical proficiency of veterinarians and building greater client trust through improved health outcomes,” he said.

Akpem described the initiative as a new frontier for animal healthcare in Africa, noting that Nigerian veterinarians were increasingly embracing technology in service delivery.

According to him, the collaboration represents a major step towards modernising the livestock value chain and positioning Nigerian veterinary clinics at the forefront of global veterinary medicine.

Also speaking, Mcnellie said NovaVet Family remained committed to empowering veterinary professionals with innovative digital tools.

“At Nova Vet Family we are committed to equipping animal health professionals with the tools of tomorrow.

“Partnering with Vet Konect allows us to bring our clinical expertise and AI innovation to one of Africa’s most dynamic markets, ensuring veterinarians have the support they need to thrive,” she said.

Vet Konect Limited is a digital animal health company focused on promoting modernisation and quality assurance within Nigeria’s veterinary and livestock sectors. NAN
