Police Bust Baby Factory, Rescue infants, Pregnant Women in Akwa-Ibom

The police in Akwa Ibom State on Friday said they have busted a Baby Factory where infants and Pregnant women were rescued.

DSP Timfon John,  the police Command’s spokesman, in a statement, said the uncovered baby Factory,  an illegal maternity home was allegedly involved in child trafficking, unlawful medical practice, and impersonation in Usung Atiat, Abak Local Government Area.

He said acting on credible intelligence, the  operatives of the Command raided the premises and arrested one Patience Ene Jimmy,  who was found harbouring seven pregnant women and five infants aged between two weeks and one year, all from different parts of Akwa Ibom State.

He said further search led to the recovery of various medical supplies, including syringes, drip lines, herbs, and immunization records, for which the suspect had no legal authorization.

According to him, the rescued women and children have been placed under protective care, while investigations are ongoing to uncover other collaborators and ensure justice is served.

Jojn quoted the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed-Azare,  as reiterating the Command’s commitment to dismantling illegal activities endangering vulnerable individuals.

The State Police Boss urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
