The Plateau Southern Zone of All Progressives Congress (APC) has tasked the recently sworn-in Speaker of the State Assembly, Daniel Nanlong, to work in synergy with all members of the assembly.
Mr Abdullahi Nyalum, Chairman, Plateau South APC in Plateau, gave the charge when he paid a courtesy visit to the speaker on Friday in Jos.
Nyalum, who congratulated the newly sworn-in speaker, urged him to ensure that he worked in unity with other members of the assembly for the interest and development of the state, irrespective of political affiliations.
The chairman expressed optimism that the speaker, who is from the southern senatorial zone, would use his wealth of experience in piloting the affairs of the legislature, having served three terms in the assembly.
Nyalum further thanked Governor Caleb Mutfwang for ensuring that the speaker of the assembly was from the zone.
Responding, the Speaker, Daniel Nanlong, assured the party of working in unity with the members for the massive development of the state.
Nanlong said that his administration would be one of transparency to ensure that the members executed their legislative agendas for the development of the state.
He commended the party exco for the visit and charge. NAN
