All is now set for the 87th birthday anniversary celebration of Obong Victor Attah, a former governor of Akwa Ibom.
Attah’s aide, Mr Udeme Nana, who disclosed this at a press conference in Uyo on Friday, said that the event scheduled for Nov. 20, would feature the launch of a book on Attah’s biography.
According to him, the event will attract the presence of President Bola Tinubu, former President, Goodluck Jonathan, and several high profile personalities in the country.
Nana, the Founder, Uyo Book Club, said that the book titled: “Attah: Architect of a New Democratic Dawn” would be unveiled by Mr Sam Amuka, the publisher, Vanguard Newspapers,
According to him, the biography, written by a veteran journalist, Dr Dele Wale, chronicles the life and achievements of Attah, who was Akwa Ibom governor between 1999 and 2007.
He described Attah as a visionary leader, who made significant contributions to the development of Akwa Ibom, and the country at large.
“Attah is known for his advocacy for true federalism, resource control, and payment of derivation to mineral-bearing communities.
“He is a deep thinker, knowledgeable, creative, versatile, mentally alert and hardworking,” he said. NAN
