A mechanic got N59.000 as reward after faithfully returned N10.8 million mistakenly transferred in to his account by a contractor.
The Mechanic, simply called Timothy, was said to be apprehensive when the large sum of money hit his account and decided to report to his bankers.
After tracing the owner, the bank connected the two of them and the owner decided to give Timothy N50,000 as a reward for his Honesty.
Mr Chinonso Ndukwe,one of the customers of the mechanic, who made this revelation on Facebook, expressed disappointment with the attitude of the contractor and the bank.
“Timothy himself was not happy when he was narrating the incident to me recently.
“In fact, even me I felt bad and concluded that my mechanic wasn’t treated fairly.
“Timothy looked very quite and ill when I saw him. When I asked what was wrong with him he simply said he had a headache,” Ndukwe said.
He, however, expressed his displeasure over the way and manner his mechanic was treated.
Ndukwe said that Timothy has been serving him well for sometimes now, and he was impressed by his honesty. (e-meral)
