Three political organizations on Tuesday lashed on Tanko Osuku, Kogi Chairman Civil Service Commission over his alleged derogatory remarks against Engr Bashir Gegu, State Commissioner for Solid Minerals.
The organisations, Bello Vanguard, Team Bash and E-BAG, who made the condemnation in a statement issued in Lokoja, demanded for the withdrawal of such statement without any delay.
The trio which are supported by Kogi Local Government Area Executives and Ward Executives across 11 Wards of Kogi LGA described Osuku’s comments as Gegu as “offensive” and “derogatory.”
“Those unpleasant remarks against the most outstanding, worker-holic, result oriented Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural resources in Engr Bashir Gegu, most be withdrawn by Osuku.
“This is because Bashir Gegu has no hand in his (Osuku’s) suspension by the Executives of the our great party, APC, because of his opened anti party activities
“In fact, even a blind man knows the efforts Engr Bashir Gegu put in pre election, during and after elections and always there for the party both physically and financially, ” they stated.
On the issue of disbursement of election funds, the trio said that the channels were opened to the public with facts and that all the funds were traced to participatory leaders across board contrary to Osuku’s claims.
According to them, “it’s evidently clear that Gegu led other party leaders to the outright victory of APC in Kogi LGA 100 per cent.”
They asserted that it was not just recently that Bashir Gegu has been instrumental to APC’s victory in all elections in his unit, Ward and majority units in Kogi LGA but that he always oversees the collation of results in the area.
“Engr Bashir Gegu is the strength of APC in Kogi State just as his Boss GYB is the strength of APC in Nigeria, so any attempt to drag his name to the mud will vehemently be resisted.
“Osuku should defend himself for not being able to deliver all to APC in his units during the elections
“Going down memory lane, Barr. Tanko Osuku was in the past accused over some allegations but when Gegu was contacted, he refused to be part of any accusation without evidence.
“This is the kind of man Engr Bashir is, always frank and blunt to the core.
“Therefore, Osuku being a lawyer should do his investigation with facts and evidence before coming to conclusion about the allegations he made against the person and dignity of Gegu,” the said.T
The trio, however, commended Engr Bashir Gegu for his total contribution and support during campaign and election by using his personal funds across the nooks and crannies of the LGA. (e-meralnews)
