Mr Olusegun Adeyeye, the new National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Commander in Kogi, on Tuesday assumed office with a strong warning to drug dealers and traffickers to keep off the state or face the wrath of the law.
The new commander gave the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lokoja.
Adeyeye, who took over from retired commander Abdulkadir Fakai-Abdullahi, said that he was in Kogi to rout all drug dealers and traffickers, who are bent on destroying the lives of innocent citizens.
“Enough is enough of the havoc drug dealers and traffickers are doing in the lives of innocent citizens, especially the youths.
“NDLEA is out to ensure that Kogi is free from the dastardly act of such drug traffickers for a sane society, ” he said.
The commander urged hard drug peddlers to desist from such illicit acts, warning that “there is no place for such destiny destroyers here in Kogi”.
According to him, personnel at the command are equal to the task of fishing out persons involved in drug abuse and trafficking in the state.
He however appealed to the general public to endeavour to report any drug abuser, dealer and trafficker to the agency for prompt action. NAN
