Jos, Oct. 29, 2023(NAN) The newly invested 8the president of the Rotary Club of Jos Utan, Mr Anthony Obiasulu, held a fundraiser during his investiture for the erection of a doctor’s quarters at the Primary Health Care center in Apata, Jos North Local Government Area.
Obiasulu, on Sunday said a needs assessment was conducted and it was discovered that the PHC in Apata, had converted its theater to accommodate its doctors.
This he said, influenced the fundraiser to erect a benefiting doctor’s quarters and to make the PHC have its theater operational.
He further said the funds raised would also be used in embarking on the club’s ” Dust to Desk project”, where by primary schools without desks would be given desks to make the learning environment more conducive for its pupils.
Obiasulu, said that the pupils would also be kitted with uniforms and given exercise books.
According to him, the donation were inline with the Rotary’s theme of 2023 entitled “Create hope in the world”, saying that the club’s intent is to help restore hope and help the world heal via serving humanity.
Obiasulu, revealed that as the 8th president of the Rotary club of Jos Utan, he would be focusing on the club’s 7 thematic areas of Water,Sanitation and hygiene, Environment, Maternal and Child health, Basic Education and Literacy, Disease prevention and treatment, Economic and Community development and Peace building and conflict resolution.
He revealed that the Club had renovated the Primary Health Care center in Utan as one of its project executed in its thematic areas .
Speaking during the investiture, Mr Felix Okeke, chairman of the ceremony in his remarks, commended the newly invested president for his blue print which he said would greatly impact humanity.
Okeke, said that the office of the president isn’t a one for personal gain but a call to serve humanity.NAN
