The Civil Society for Cancer Eradication in Nigeria (CiSCANEN), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) remembers her founder, Comrade Elijah H.O Elijah, who died in active service to humanity on NoV. 6, 2022.

Peaceglo.com.ng reports that until his demise, Elijah was the National Coordinator of CiSCANEN, the National Coordinator of the Coalition for Civic Education (CCE), and the Vice President of the Nigerian Cancer Society (NCS).

According to his wife, and the incumbent National Coordinator of the network, Dr. (Mrs) A. Adegoke-Elijah, said that he is being missed by the family, the NGO and the citizens of Kogi and Nigeria as a whole.

She said that as a mark of respect and honour to her late husband,  “Nov. 6 of every year will henceforth be marked as the CiSCANEN Founder’s Day.

“The day (Nov. 6) will be set aside to carry out some activities to further the founder’s goal  of reducing the burden of cancer in Nigeria.

“Just as our founding father was passionate about saving innocent people’s lives while alive, we shall not relent on that but keep the fire burning to give hope to the hopeless, ” she said.

The incumbent coordinator called on federal and state government, corporate organisations and wealthy individuals to join CiSCANEN in the fight against the deadly cancer disease ravaging lives in Nigeria.

While appreciating partners and supporters of CiSCANEN, she prayed for the “peaceful repose of the soul of our selfless founder.” (ephemeralnews)
