Unity School A Continuous Unifier – Association

Dr Onyekachi Onubugo, the national president Federal Government College Jos Old Students Association, has said that unity colleges serves as a continuous unifier in the country.

Onubugo, said this on Monday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), as the school marked its 50th anniversary.

According to him, the vision of the founding father of the pro-unitate schools, Gen.Yakubu Gowon (rtd), was to create a united Nigeria via bringing students irrespective of their ethic cleavage and religious beliefs to learn and be nurtured in the pro-unitate ethos.

He said the unity colleges has successfully united students from various backgrounds and created a lasting bond which fosters unity.

” The unity schools remains the only platform that unifies students of various backgrounds who build a lasting bond and this makes the nation stronger”, he said.

The national president , said that the association has launched an endowment fund this year to support the indigent students and also to boost the development of infrastructure in the school.

He further revealed that the Association has also launched a medical insurance scheme to provide basic medical insurance for less privileged members amongst them.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the old students association gathered on the plateau with the theme ” Back to the roots”to mark the school’s to 50th anniversary. (NAN)(
