Seadogs Donates Food Items, Educational Materials To Plateau School For The Deaf

The National Association of Seadogs, Dutse Deck, in collaboration with Atlantis Deck, has donated food items and educational materials to School for the Deaf in Bassa Local Government of Plateau.

Mr Hilary Ezeadilieje, chairman, Plateau’s chapter of the association, on Wednesday, said the donation was in commemoration of the “2024 International Day of Education”.

Ezeadilieje, said the donation was made to strengthen one of the focal areas of the United Nations which is education and to also provide both educational and food items to help aid the learning of the pupils and students of the school.

According to him, the theme for the celebration entitled , “Learning for lasting Peace” would also inculcate in the pupils and students the need to create a peaceful society via their actions and inactions as they were the prospective leaders of tomorrow.

He called on the school management to make the best use of the items donated to enhance the learning of the pupils and students of the school.

Responding, the principal of the school, Mrs Nanbam Silas, who received the items, commended the association for its kind gesture.

Silas, said the donation was timely and assured that the items donated would be used judiciously to enhance the learning of the pupils and students.

She called on other well meaning associations and individuals to emulate the kind gesture of the association.

Similarly, the head girl of the school, Joy Sunday, who was visibly elated, thanked the association for its donation.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Items donated included: dozens of notebooks, biros, pencils, erasers, cartons of chalks, bags of rice, bags of maize, beans and a jerry – can of vegetable oil.NAN
