Former Senator for Plateau South, Sen. Nora Dadu’ut, has lauded Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria First Lady, for championing women and girl child empowerment initiatives in the country.
Dadu’ut, in a statement on Thursday in Jos, said that the empowerment programmes were impacting the lives of many Nigerians, especially women and girls.
The former lawmaker said that the first lady’s resolve to uplift women out of poverty was timely, as women were the nucleus of each family.
She stated that the initiatives were integral part of President Bola Tinubu administration’s economic policies.
“Worthy of note is your “We Are Equal Campaign” to advocate gender equity through inclusive education in Nigeria, which was launched on Monday.
“No Woman, No Nation,” a renewed hope, a women empowerment initiative that so far has empowered several women in the country, is also commendable.
“The empowerment of women farmers in the North Central Zone, which was flagged off in Jos recently, is equally in the right direction.
“You’ve proven within a very short time that you are committed to advancing gender equality and empowering women across states,” she said.
She urged women across the country to support the first lady as she works towards improving the lot of women. NAN
