The Institute Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) Jos and District Society has elected new officials to run its affairs in the next one.
Mr Terhemba Tile, the newly elected chairman, said that he and his team would intensify efforts to bring in more members into the fold of ICAN.
Tile said that by so doing, the virtues and values, which are integrity and accuracy, would manifest in everything they did.
The chairman stated that the work that accountants do, either in public or private offices, could transform society positively.

The responsibilities of managing the finances were prudent, and they could keep to the rules of the game.
“We intend to engage the government, both at the state level and at the national level, on policy, giving constructive advice and suggestions on policy formulation.
“Those that will have direct and real-life meaning for the populace,” stated.
Tile further stated they have mapped out a strategy quackery by constituting a standing committee to handle the issue.
According to him, the committee would visit and establish each office where ICAN members were practicing.
“So that by the time an account or a report is sent out with our member’s name on it, we should be able to trace it.”.
Mrs. Grace Shwarta, Plateau Commissioner for Finance, lauded ICAN Jos and District Society for a seamless transition from one leadership to the next.
Shwarta, who is a member of ICAN, expressed confidence that the new executive would take ICAN to higher heights.
The commissioner advised the new officials to remain focused and exhibit the highest level of professionalism that ICAN was known for.
The outgone chairman of ICAN Jos and District Society, Mr Monday Bereh, appreciated members for the support accorded during his tenure.
Bereh urged the members to extend the same support to the incoming leadership.
