Gov. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau has emerged as “The Plateau Man of the Year 2024 Award” of Coa Media Group.

Plateau Man of the Year Awards, made the announcement in a statement issued in Jos on Wednesday.
Akhimien said that the governor was nominated for his exceptional leadership and visionary governance, which has driven the socio-economic transformation of Plateau State.
He explained: “Since the assumption of office, the governor has introduced groundbreaking policies and programs across critical sectors, including security, agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, and education.”
“These initiatives have significantly enhanced the quality of life for the good people of Plateau, and has established the state as a vital contributor to Nigeria’s development agenda.
‘Gov. Mutfwang’s unwavering commitment to securing peace, unity, and social justice has also been widely commended.
“His proactive efforts in conflict resolution, community development, and fostering harmony among the diverse ethnic and religious groups in Plateau State have solidified his reputation as a leader, deeply committed to the well-being of all citizens.”
The COA Media Group coordinator said Mutfwang’s administration’s focus on youth and women empowerment and inclusive governance, further underscores his dedication to ensuring sustainable development.
According to him, the governor emerged as the winner following a transparent public nomination and voting process conducted from Nov. 14 to Dec. 31, 2024.
The process, he said, was independently monitored by a panel of jurors, who highlighted Mutfwang as the people’s choice for his impactful leadership and contributions to the State’s progress.
Akhimien further disclosed that the award shall be officially presented to His Excellency during a grand ceremony, which comes up February 2025 at Crispan Hotel & Events Centre, Jos, Plateau.
However, past recipients of the Plateau Man of the Year Award include esteemed personalities such as Amb. Yahaya Kwande and His Excellency Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong.
Others are Her Excellency Dame Pauline Tallen, Hon. Chris Kwaja, PhD, Hon. Beni B. Lar, Nde Dauda Wuritka Gotring, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, Sir Joseph Ntung Ari, and Engr. Chief. Dr Meshach Congo Maichibi.
Notably, Plateau Man of the Year is observing its 10th edition. The annual event is organized by Coa Media Group; designed to honour individuals and institutions whose contributions have significantly impacted Plateau State’s development.
The award aims at promoting excellence, innovation, and dedication in both public and private sectors.
