The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has reiterated its dedication to fostering community engagement and ensuring peace and security across the State.
Alhaji Baba Mohammed-Azare, State Commissioner of Police, gave the assurance during a courtesy visit to him in his office in Uyo by the Core Community Elders Forum of the state.
The Forum, comprising elders from eight local government areas, sought to establish a collaborative relationship with the Police Command to promote unity and development in their communities.
Mohammed-Azare, who welcomed the delegation, commended their initiative in promoting peace and unity in theircommunitiesandthestate.
He reiterated the Command’s dedication to strengthening community policing strategies and working closely with local stakeholders to enhance security across the state.
The Commissioner urged the elders to encourage their communities to be law-abiding and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
According to him, the command has consistently demonstrated its commitment to community engagement, previously passing out 1,511 re-trained women police officers.
Earlier, the forum’s Vice Chairman, Chief Engr. Christopher Tom, assured the Commissioner that the group is committed to fostering peace, unity, and cooperation among the local government areas. (ephemeralnews.com.ng)
