The Constituents of Kogi Central Senatorial District on Saturday declared that there is nothing that could ever make them to recall Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan from the National Assembly.
The Constituents under a group known as the Concerned Constituents of Kogi Central Senatorial District, made the declaration in a statement signed by their Coordinator/Convener, Hon. Abdulrahman Badamasiuy.
The declaration of the group is reportedly in respect to the challenges their Senator and representative is having with the leadership of the Senate.
They said: “We want the Nigerian Senate, fellow citizens of our country and the whole world to know thet we are firmly standing with and fighting for justice alongside our deughter and duly elected Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, on her illegal suspension from the Senate.
“Sen Akpoti-Uduaghan remains the one in whom we deposited our legitimacy as a Senatorial Constituency and nobody or groups of persons can unscrupulousty violate our democratic and constitutional rights.
“We, therefore, wish to put to the Senate, all Nigerians and the worid on notice that Akpoti-Udueghan retains our irrevocable legitimacy as our Senator that we as constituents of Kogi Central duly and massively voted for in the 2023 elections to serve her full term ending May 2027, ” they stated.
According to them, all the Communities that make up Kogi central constituency are resolute that they shall never trade off the quality of representation that Akpoti-Uduaghan has given to them since she assumed office in the Nigerian Senate as their Distinguished Senator.
They demanded the Nigerian Senate to terminates the illegal suspension of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, which they claimed has “unjustly denies our people of our constitutional right to federal representation in the National Assembly.”
They added: “We seriously wam against any attempt to further aggravate our Constituency through any fraudulent attempt to illegally recall Sen Akpoti-Uduaghan by any group of individuals conspiring to work against the collective will of we the people of Kogi Central Constituency.
“Any unscrupulous attempt against the collective good of our people will be met with strong resistance from the entire Kogi Central communities.
“We advise the President, Alhaji Bola Tinubu and the Federal Government of Nigeria to swiftly take responsibility to ensure the safety of Sen Akpoti-Uduaghan and our communities in Kogi Central by preventing and averting any further provocation of the peace-loving people.
“We, the people of Kogi Central communities, have maintained law and order, and now wish to advise everyone else to do the same.” (ephemeralnews.com.ng)
