NUC Accredited 54 BUK Courses in 2024 – Registrar

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has reportedly recorded outstanding success in 2024, when National Universities Commission (NUC) accredited a total of 54 of its academic programmes across various faculties.

The University’s Registrar, Mr Haruna Aliyu, who made the disclosure in a statement he signed said that after Commission’s evaluation, said, “all the programmes received full or accredited status.”

Aliyu said that the feat has strongly confirmed the University’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance.

“This comprehensive accreditation covers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Administration, Agriculture, Allied Health Sciences, Arts, Computing, Education, Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Social Sciences, ” he said.

The registrar revealed the result of the accreditation exercise is as follows:

ADMINISTRATION
1. Master of Accounting & Financial Management – Accredited
2. Master in Taxation & Revenue Administration – Accredited
3. Master in Treasury Management – Accredited
4. Master of Public Administration – Accredited
5. Master of Public Policy & Administration – Accredited
6. M.Sc. Banking and Finance – Accredited
7. Master of Islamic Banking & Finance – Accredited
8. M.Sc. Islamic Banking & Finance – Accredited
9. Master of Entrepreneurship – Accredited
10. MBA Business Administration – Accredited
11. M.Sc. Business Administration – Accredited

According to the registrar, the outcome of this rigorous accreditation exercise reflects the University’s sustained investment in faculty development, infrastructure, curriculum improvement, and research advancement.

He described the feat as “a validation of our strategy to position Bayero University, Kano as a premier institution of higher learning in Nigeria and beyond.”

“The full accreditation status granted to these 54 programmes is valid for five years. It guarantees that students admitted into these programmes are enrolled in NUC-approved and quality-assured curricula, while their certificates are recognized for employment, further studies, and national service.

‘The University appreciates the NUC for its diligent evaluation and support.”

The registrar said that the Management of BUK commended the efforts of all Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty members, administrative staff, and students whose dedication and contributions made this achievement possible.

He reaffirmed BUK commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in teaching, research, and community service.
