Halims Youths Forum on Wednesday urgedĀ Rep. Abdullahi Ali-Halims. House Deputy Majority Leader (APC-Kogi East) to contest for the Kogi East Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
The forum made the call in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Mr Muktar Attaisah, in Lokoja on Wednesday.
The forum said the pedigree of Ali-Halims, representating Ankpa/Omala/Olamaboro Federal constituency, had been tested, considering his huge achievements in the constituency over the years.

āWe believeĀ Ali-Halims can replicate the magic-wand in a bigger arena ā the Kogi east senatorial district, and put a smile on the faces ofĀ constituents.
āRight now, the good people of Kogi East are in dire need of a competent, enthusiastic, and purposeful leader who can bring about meaningful development in the district.
āWe recently undertook a survey and discovered that the stakeholders and residents of Kogi East have embraced a united political front to support Ali-Halims in the 2027 elections.ā
It argued that the support was largely because many believed the deputy majority leader is the most effective and credible choice for Kogi East senatorial district.
The forum, however, cautioned Ali-Halims to be mindful of political opportunists, who parade themselves as strategists only to exploit aspirants financially without grassroots structure nor adding electoral value.
According to the forum, beyond individual ambition, the larger goal of any senatorial aspirant should be the collective interest and electoral success of Kogi East.
On the Repās achievements, the forum said that Ali-Halims has lifted and transformed the lives of so many constituents through his empowerment, agricultural, and educational programmes, aside opened employment opportunities.
āHe built several blocks of classrooms with different science equipment across his constituency, such as the 4 class room block each at Community secondary school, Opulega and Owele Primary school in Ankpa district.
āOther benefitting schools include, Abu_ taāaj secondary school, Ankpa, YMC secondary school, Ankpa, Ife Community secondary school, Abejukolo, Islamiya secondary school, Olah, QIC school, Ogodu, and Government Day secondary school, Okpo.
āAside the distribution of transformers, and provision of over 300 solar boreholes across his constituency, he has constructed roads across Ankpa federal constituency such as Ejeh road, mission Street road, Ojede community roads, and Angwa Ogodo road.
āOthers are Ankpa General Hospital road, Ajobe ā Akatapia road, Uferane ā Olah road in Omala local government, and the well executed erosion control project in Abejukolo township amongst several othes, ā it stated.
