Gov. Ahmed Ododo of Kogi on Saturday cast his vote in the ongoing APC primary election at Upogoro/Odenku Ward in Okene Local Government Area of the state.

The governor arrived at the polling venue amid a peaceful atmosphere and was received by party officials, electoral officers, and supporters who gathered to witness the exercise.

APC had fixed May 16 for House of Representatives primary across the nation in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

Speaking shortly after voting, Gov. Ododo commended the party members for conducting themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner in the area.

Ododo urged party members to remain peaceful and united throughout the exercise and the upcoming 2027 general elections.

“This is because we have to jealously protect our democratic process for the growth and development of Kogi and Nigeria as a whole, “he stated.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening democratic values and ensuring transparent political processes within the party.

According to him, the primary election is part of the APC’s preparations ahead of forthcoming electoral activities in the state and should not be jeopardise. (ephemeralnews.com.ng)
