Mutfwang Wins APC Governorship Primary in Pankshin LGA

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Primary election in Pankshin Local Government Area, defeating his opponent, Navy Commodore Yilchini Bida Jan (Rtd).

Announcing the results at the APC office in Pankshin, the Returning Officer for the Governorship election in Pankshin Local Government Area, Hon. Monday Daspan, said the party has 14,732 registered voters in the Local Government Area, out of which 13,373 were accredited across the 12 Federal electoral wards, and 13,354 votes were cast for the two gubernatorial aspirants.

According to the returning officer, Governor Caleb Mutfwang polled 13,050 votes, while his opponent, Navy Commodore Yilchini Bida Jan (Rtd), scored 304 votes.

Daspan appreciated INEC officials and security personnel for maintaining peace during the exercise, as well as party members for providing the venue for the assignment.

Speaking after the announcement, the Executive Chairman of Pankshin Local Government Council, Felix Gonung, thanked INEC officials, security personnel, and APC members for ensuring a peaceful exercise across the council area.

Gonung described the overwhelming support for Governor Mutfwang from the people of Pankshin as well-deserved, citing his track record of achievements across the state.

He said the outcome reflected the confidence and support the people have for the Governor.

Gonung also called on the people of Pankshin LGA to come out en masse to vote for Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the Presidential Primary Election.
