Prince Matthew Kolawale, the Speaker of Kogi House of Assembly, has urged Christians to emulate and reflect on the sacrificial life and love of Jesus Christ toward building a peaceful and successful life in the Society.
Kolawale, who is the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the yet to be concluded National Assembly in Ijumu/Kabba-Bunu Federal Constituency, made the appeal in a statement issued on Saturday in Lokoja.
He said the call became imperative for a God fearing world as we join other Christians across the globe particularly to celebrate the death of Jesus on the cross for salvation of the entire world.
“This year’s Easter lent season is to commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ which signified everlasting hope and freedom for the believers.
“This season afford all believers to live a life of sacrifice and Agape love like our Lord Jesus Christ who sacrificed himself for the survival of the entire world.
“Indeed it’s expected that as Christians, the Easter season should be used to return to God and pray for the country as it is moving towards another administration of renewed hope of Bola Ahmed-Tinubu, which will give birth to a new dawn for the nation,” he said.
Kolawole said this year’s celebration is unique in the sense that it waa a transition period for the nation that required every citizen to play their parts of contributing to the peace and development of Nigeria.
The speaker also called on all Nigerians irrespective of their faith to continue to pray for the leadership in the country and that of Kogi ably led by Gov. Yahaya Bello, stressing that the state has witnessed tremendous growth under the “new direction administration” in the last seven years. NAN
