Tackle Corruption, Revive Economy – ECWA President Urges Tinubu

The president, Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Rev.Stephen Baba- Panya has appealed to Nigeria’s newly sworn in president Bola Tinubu, to tackle the menace of corruption, insecurity and revive the country’s economy.

Baba-Panya, made the appeal on Saturday in Jos, during the installation of ECWA’s General Secretary, board of trustees and the send off of the outgoing general secretary.

He said without tackling the issue of corruption and insecurity the nation cannot thrive.

He called on the government to make appointments especially in the security sector based on merit and equity.

The president, tasked the newly appointed general secretary and the board of trustees to ensure they do their best in discharging their duties, thereby fulfilling God’s calling during their tenure.

Earlier, the guest speaker at the installation, Prof. Samuel Kunhiyop, said successful leadership was all about responsibility and human relationship.

He tasked the newly appointed church council members to shun factors which hampered good human relationship such as pride, abuse of power, desperation amongst others.

He called on the appointees to embrace teamwork.

The out gone General – Secretary of ECWA, Rev Yunusa Nmadu, said during his tenure a new bye- law for ECWA was developed and the rule of law was promoted and there was zero tolerance for corruption.

He assured the newly appointed General Secretary of his unflinching assistance.

The newly appointed General – Secretary, Rev Ayuba Asheshe, said his appointment is a call of responsibility.

He assured the church that during his tenure there would be unity.

The News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) reports that the two board of trustees are Rev Michael Adamu for ECWA zone 2 and Rtd Rev Isaac Laudarji for ECWA zone 6.  NAN
