Ahead of Tuesdays election of the Senate Minority leader, the foremost aspirants, Sen. Aminu Tambuwal, and Seriake Dickson and other aggrieved members of the PDP on Monday afternoon stormed the party’s National Secretariat and demanded for the transmission letter nominating candidate for the seat.
The PDP lawmakers reportedly met a stiff resistance at the gate, as the PDP lawmakers were asked to approach the other PDP members and to canvas for votes on the floor of the House.
Disturbed by the action of the Party leadership, the senators allegedly turned back, as ordered by the party which insisted that they should approach all members of the Assembly and canvass for vote on the floor of the House.
Speaking with newsmen, Sen. Aminu Tambuwal said they approached members of the NWC to transmit a letter to the leadership of the National Assembly for the parties choice , but were barred from seeing the leadership of the party.
Similarly, Sen. Dickson urged the NWC to cause a letter to the National leadership, insisting that the PDP Senators have already arrived at their choice. (Emeralnews)
