Movie Actor, Lawson, Music Stars, Others Honour At AFRO Award 2023

The Hollywood Movie Actor, Jason Lee is among Other 25 movie and Music Stars recently honoured at the AFRO Award 2023 held at Los Angeles, California, USA.

A statement issued in Nigeria on Friday by Chief Taiwo Oduala, the Producer and initiator of AFRO Awards said that annual event was aimed recognising and rewarding philanthropical and humanitarian services of both Africans and Americans around the globe.

Oduala, a famous Film Director disclosed that Actor Lawson Lee, Culture’s Critic, Host & CEO of Hollywood Unlocked, bagged the “AFRO Awards Bravery Award” for his meritorious acts of bravery against all odds and distinguishing himself by performing outstanding deeds of bravery and seeking to inspire others globally.

He said that the 2nd Annual AFRO Awards that celebrated Humanitarian Excellence with glamour and Global Impact, also saw Actor, Director, Writer, and Assistant Prof. Bayo Akinfemi honoured with “The Best Male Actor of The Year Award” for his outstanding performance in a TV series and excellence in cinematic achievements

Other awards and awardees include: Best Female Actor of The Year Award” awarded to the multi-talented Actress, Comedian, and Producer, Gina Yashere, for her outstanding contributions to the film and entertainment industry.

● Lifetime Achievement Award: The incomparable Actor and Director, Richard Lawson, whose decades-long career has left an indomitable mark on the world of entertainment.

● Breakout Star Actor of The Year Award: Awarded to the promising Child Actor, Innocent Ekakite, for his exceptional talent and promise.

● Achievement In Filmmaking Award: Awarded to Filmmaker, and Founder of Nollywood in Hollywood, Ose Oyamendan for his polished filmmaking achievements in creating compelling stories, contributions to the motion picture industry, and his devotion to the Nigerian-American premise.

● AFRO Awards Artist of The Year Award: Recording Artist, Songwriter, and Actor, Yung Muusik, for his exceptional artistry.

Oduala noted the 2nd Annual AFRO Awards, held at the prestigious Directors Guild of America in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA, has proved to be an unforgettable celebration of humanitarian excellence and cultural significance.

He expressed gratitude to Special Presenters and Attendance, who included Morris Chestnut (American Actor), May Odiakosa (President of STAR Beer USA), Chris Attoh (Actor, Director, and Filmmaker), Deontay Wilder (American Professional Boxer) and
