JUTH Inaugurates N150bn Endowment Fund Committee

Dr Pokop Bupwatda, the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), has inaugurated the hospital’s N150 billion endowment fund committee.

The CMD said during the inauguration on Tuesday in Jos that when launched, the fund would bridge the gap and reduce challenges confronting the hospital in terms of equipment, among others.

According to him, there is need to invest in quality healthcare through the creation of world standard legacy projects that would enhance service delivery.

He said the inaugurated committee members would interface with UNIMARK Nigeria Limited, the consultant’s handling the endowment fund project, before its official launch to ensure it aligned with the fund’s terms of reference.

Dr Harun Audu, the Lead Consultant from UNIMARK Nigeria Limited, said health issues are enormous and cannot be handled by government alone.

Audu added that the essence of the endowment fund is to enable JUTH have a source of funding, aside government subvention.

The Chairman of the committee, Prof. Ishaya Pam, said the fund is another avenue of getting funding for the institution.

He assured the CMD that all hands would be on deck for the actualisation of the N150 billion fund target. NAN
