Alhaji Baba Mohammed-Azare, Akwa-Ibom State Police Commissioner on Tuesday decorated142 promoted officers after holding maiden strategic security meeting with officers os the state Command.
The meeting, held at the command, brought together senior officers, including members of the Management Team, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Commanders.
Addressing the officers, the CP emphasized the need to address key issues such as corruption, extortion, and incivility towards the public.
Mohammed-Azare stressed the importance of proper supervision of junior officers and assured the senior officers that he would operate open-door policies to reduce crime and curb unprofessional conduct.
While decorating the 142 promoted officers in the state, the CP tasks them of hardworking and professionalism for the good of the state.
“As I congratulate you and your families on your promotions, I hereby charge you to discharge the schedules of your new ranks within the ambit of the law.”
“I also wish to thank the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu-Egbetokun, the Police Service Commission, and the Force Management Team for their commitment to the welfare of members of the Force.”
The decorated officers include two Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP) promoted to Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP), 25 Superintendents of Police (SP) promoted to CSP, 22 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) promoted to SP, and 93 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP) promoted to DSP.
Some of the decorated officers include ACP Inyang John Abia, DPO Shelter Afrique, and ACP Ahiwa Ribadu, OC Anti-Cultism, who were formerly CSPs. Others include CSP Felix Ekpoudom, 2IC QIU, CSP Cordiella Nwawe, Provost 26 PMF, Uyo, and CSP Ebong Thompson, OC SWAT.
