Mr Miller Dantawaye, the new Commissioner of Police (CP), for Kogi, on Thursday, resumed office and warned criminal elements to leave the state  or be dealt with appropriately.

Dantawaye gave the warning in Lokoja, while addressing Heads of Departments of the command.

He said that as an experienced operational and professional officer, he had zero tolerance for crime and criminality.

According to him, all criminal elements must leave Kogi as quickly as possible or they will face the wrath of the law.

“Peace is what we need in this state. So let the criminal elements terrorising the state leave the state without further delay.

“God has brought me here as the CP, and I’m not here to joke. IGP, Egbetokun Kayode, deemed it feat to bring me here, and we shall give them (criminals) no room.”

He added that he would leverage on the former CP, Bethrand Onuoha, for his professional advice as well as the officers in the command to defeat the criminal elements and restore peace in the state.

The commissioner urged the officers to be ready to work to ensure that lives and property of all residents were secured.

According to him, if it’s a Constable that can display commitment and advice me appropriately, that’s the person I will work with.

He appealed to the people of the state to trust in the Police and furnish them with any available information that could lead to the arrest of criminals causing havoc in the state. NAN
