Akwa Ibom Police Arrest Suspected Burglars, Recover Stolen Goods

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested two suspected burglars, Moses Godwill Ndiong and Abraham Udo, in connection with a recent burglary incident in Okpokpong, Eket LGA.

The breakthrough came on January 20, 2025, at approximately 0400 hours, when operatives of the Command received credible information from a concerned citizen regarding the burglary at the residence of a man (name withheld).

A statement issued by the spokesperson for the Command,  DSP Timfon John, said that Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, promptly dispatched a team to the scene, leading to the suspects’ arrest.

John said that upon interrogation, both suspects confessed to their involvement in the burglary.

He disclosed the haul of stolen goods recovered from them to including:

Stolen Electronics: A 65″ LG Smart TV, a 42″ LG LED TV, a 32″ LG LED TV, and a Sony Home Theater System.

Vehicle: A Toyota Camry car with registration number KY984EKY.

Other Items: A 2900 SUMEC Generator, six pairs of shoes, electrical cables, cutter, and pliers used in the burglary.

The  spokesperson quoted the CP as expeessing gratitude to the vigilant citizen who provided the crucial information, leading to the swift apprehension of the suspects. Investigations are ongoing. (ephemeralnews.com.ng)
