The Kogi State Wrestling Association has honoured Alhaji Dada Ahmed, Publisher of the Reporter, and other distinguished individuals with prestigious Awards of Excellence.
Other recipients of the awards include Mr. Obakachi Onipe Halli, Director of Sports; Mr. Akowe Adejoh, first secretary, wrestling 1992 to 1995, and Mallam Abubakar Mohammed, Stadium Manager of the Kogi State Sports Council and second wrestlibg secretary from 1995 to 2023.
The awards were said to be in recognition and appreciation of their remarkable contributions to the growth and development of wrestling in Kogi.
Mr. Ojo Ologunja John, state wrestling coach, while speaking at the recent award ceremony held at the Confluence Stadium, Zone 8, Lokoja, expressed gratitude over tge success of the of the award.
John commended the awardees for their tremendous roles in advancing wrestling and sports development in Kogi State.
He also conveyed the gratitude of both Kogi state wrestling association and Lokoja wrestling association to the awardees.
Responding, Ahmed expressed gratitude to the associations for the recognition and honour bestowed upon him.
The publisher pledged to strengthen his online publication’s commitment to promoting wrestling and other sports in the state.
Other awardees, who also spoke commended the organizers for the initiative and promised to continue supporting the development of wrestling and sports in Kogi. (ephemeralnews.com.ng)
