The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has received commendations from the Center for Human Rights and Accountability Network (CHRAN) for its efforts in maintaining peace and security in the state.

During a visit to the Command Headquarters on Friday, January 24, 2025, CHRAN Director Otuekong Franklyn Isong praised Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed-Azare, for his leadership.

Isong described CP Azare as a “professional par excellence” whose proactive measures have enhanced public safety and confidence in the policing structure.

CHRAN pledged to partner with the Police in enforcing the Third-Party Vehicle Insurance Policy, set to commence on February 1, 2025.

According to him, the organization will use its platforms to sensitize citizens on the importance of obtaining valid third-party insurance documents.

Responding, Mohammed-Azare assured CHRAN of the Command’s commitment to professionalism, transparency, and accountability in enforcing the policy.

The CP emphasized that the exercise would be carried out with strict adherence to citizens’ rights and in collaboration with stakeholders. (ephemeralnews.com.ng)
