The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has dealt a significant blow to criminal elements in the state with the arrest of a suspected notorious cultist, Kingsley Effiong Emmanuel, 26.
Emmanuel’s arrest was made possible by actionable intelligence, which led operatives to storm his residence in Nsukara Offot village, Nwaniba Road, Uyo, on Jan. 25, the Command’s spokesperson, disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday in Uyo.
“A thorough search of the suspect’s premises resulted in the recovery of a locally made pistol, which he had allegedly used to terrorize innocent members of the public.”

He quoted Mr Baba Mohammed-Azare, the state Police Commissioner, to have said that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had been directly involved in disrupting the peace and order of the community through his criminal activities.
Mohammed-Azare, commended the operatives for their gallantry and issued a stern warning to criminal elements.
“Akwa Ibom is not a safe haven for criminals.
“Those who choose to continue their unlawful activities will be smoked out, apprehended, and made to face the full wrath of the law, ” he warned.
The Commissioner urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with the Police by providing credible information, assuring them of prompt and decisive action.
He added: “This arrest is part of the Command’s efforts to flush out criminal elements and maintain peace and order in the state.” (ephemeralnews.com.ng)
