Some political stakeholders in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa-Ibom have declared to support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Gov. Umo Eno.
The motion to support Tinubu and Eno was moved at a stakeholders meeting in Uyo on Tuesday by Mr Ime Okon, the member representing Ibiono Ibom/Itu Federal Constituency in the national assembly.
The motion was supported by Mr Asuakak Umoh, the Chairman, Ibiono-Ibom Local Government Council.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr Moses Essien, the lawmaker representing Ibiono-Ibom at the state Assembly, said that Tinubu had demonstrated uncommon interest in the development of Akwa Ibom.
“Today, political stakeholders, youth, women and community leaders have come out in defiance of party affiliations to declare support for the president and our governor.
“Ibiono Ibom stakeholders have acknowledged the efforts of the president, and our dear governor to improve the socio-economic well-being of the people,” he said.
The lawmaker commended the Federal Government for the construction of a 100-bed mother and child hospital in Okoita, Ibiono Ibom.
“This facility is a major boost to healthcare delivery in this area, especially for women and children,” he said.
He further commended Tinubu for considering the appointment of an Ibiono Ibom son, Sen. Ita Enang, as an ambassador.
“On the part of Eno, we acknowledge his value-driven and inclusive leadership style, especially the ongoing road projects that cut across Ibiono Ibom.
“We particularly acknowledge the inclusion of some rural roads in the 2026 budget. We commend his commitment to link agricultural zones with the commercial centres,” he said.
Essien urged the people of Ibiono Ibom to participate actively in the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise in order to demonstrate their support for Tinubu and Eno. NAN
