JED Reaffirms Staff Wellbeing with Fitness, Wellness Drive

The Jos Electricity Distribution (JED) Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to employee wellbeing by rolling out a nationwide fitness and wellness drive across its franchise states of Plateau, Benue, Bauchi, and Gombe.

The Managing Director of JED, Plc, Mr Sediko Douka, stated this in a press statement, signed by the company’s Head of Corporate Communications, Mrs Saratu Dauda-Aliyu, on Sunday in Jos.

Douka described staff wellbeing as a critical pillar for sustainable performance.

“At JED Plc, we recognise that our people are our greatest asset.

“This company-wide fitness and wellness initiative goes beyond exercise; it reflects our deliberate commitment to the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of our employees, as a healthy workforce is essential in delivering reliable and efficient service to our customers,” Sediko said.

Similarly, Mr Daniel Iyoha-Ojie, the company’s Head of Human Resources, added that the initiative aligned with JED Plc’s long-term human capital development strategy.

“Our goal is to institutionalise wellness as part of our corporate culture. By integrating fitness, medical awareness, and mental health support, we are creating an enabling environment where employees feel valued, motivated, and empowered to perform at their best,” Iyoha-Ojie said.

According to him, the company-wide fitness and wellness initiative formed part of JED Plc’s broader organisational transformation agenda.

He stated that the initiative was aimed at fostering a resilient, motivated, and high-performing workforce capable of meeting the evolving needs of customers across its franchise areas.

The MD further reaffirmed management’s plans to sustain and expand similar wellness programmes as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen employee engagement and organisational effectiveness.
