Prof. Johnson-Akubo Bags 2nd Term as Salem University’s VC

Prof. Alewo Johnson-Akubo, has been reappointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Salem University Lokoja for a second term following approval by the institution’s Governing Council.

The VC’s reappointment was contained in a statement signed by the registrar of the university, Dr Emmanuel Adejoh, in Lokoja on Thursday.

Adejoh explained that the decision of the council was aimed at consolidating on the current gains in academic all round growth he has brought to bear.

“The University’s Governing council also considered Johnson-Akubo’s strides in policy re-engineering and development of the first privately owned university in the north central Nigeria as far- reaching and commendable.

“The council expressed confidence in his (Johnson-Akubo’s) ability and agility to continue with the magic wand in transforming the institution into one of best citadel of learning within the West African sub-region.

“While congratulating the VC on his reappointment, the council prayed God to grant the VC the grace, wisdom and understanding to pilot the affairs of the university to greater heights, ” he said.

The registrar said that there was massive jubilation at Salem University community when the news of the VC’s reappointment breezed in.
