Eid-el-Fitr: Gov. Bello Calls For Commitment To National Integration

Kogi Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has called on Nigerians to be committed to national integration and peaceful coexistence irrespective of political and religious differences.

The governor made the appeal in a message issued on Thursday in Lokoja by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Mohammed.

Bello said that the call became imperative for Nigerians to propel the nation to greater heights.

“As Muslim faithful all over the World celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr, I enjoin the Muslim Ummah to stick to the lessons of Ramadan which proffers solutions to some of the problems facing our country today.

“One advantage for us is that the teachings of Ramadan are centered on humanity, kindness, peace and love, which when imbibed, many of the problems in this country will be drastically reduced.

“For the fact that there are challenges, we must continue to imbibe the beautiful lessons learned during the holy month.

“Nigeria’s greater achievements as a nation lie in us being united and not allowing ethnic, religious and political affiliations to divide us,” the governor advised.

Bello reiterated the commitment of his administration to ensuring that Kogi and its people continued to enjoy the dividends of democracy by continuous implementation of policies and programmes that would positively touch the lives of citizens.

The governor called on every Nigerian to offer prayers for all leaders and most importantly the country.

According to him, more so that we are preparing for the transition of governments at the Federal and State levels.

The governor wished all residents of Kogi especially the Muslim faithful a very peaceful and joyous celebration of Eid-el-Fitr. NAN
