Teenager  Pleads Guilty To Stealing  N965,000 Properties, Others

An 18-year-old man, Israel Fadare,  on Wednesday pleaded guilty to stealing  an air-conditioner and other items all totaling N965,000 from a shopping complex.

The 18-year-old appeared before  an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State,  where he was charged by the police.

The defendant, whose address wasn’t stated admitted  guilt before  Chief Magistrate E. Kubeinje.

According to the prosecutor, SP Kehinde Ajayi, the defendant and one other at large conspired on March 4, at Salolo Shopping Complex, Salolo Bus stop, Alagbado, to commit felony.

“They  entered a shop belonging to one Mr Ismail Agbelekale and stole 15 horsepower Samsung A/C  valued NN350,000, a microwave and stabilizer valued N200,000.

“Also they stole a motor radiator  valued N65,000, a cable wire valued N350,000, all bringing to total sum of N965,000,” Ajayi said.

However, luck ran out on the defendant when on March 17 at the same shopping complex, he stole from Mr Robert Sobulo’s shop, three wigs valued N53,000, a straightening iron valued N19,000 and a cutter curling iron valued N39,000, all totaling N111,000.

“He was caught on a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) stealing the said items,” she told the court.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 287  and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015.

The magistrate adjourned the case until April 9, for review of the facts and sentencing. NAN
